About Me

Who I am, and my hobbies, weren't built overnight. Instead, they were ideas, goals, job changes, schooling, successes, failures, and even injuries experienced over decades. In time, these experiences, and hobbies, manifested into careers, companies, blogs, and books. Each of which can be explored in more detail below.

The experiences that birthed the different facets of this website began in my teenage years. Within a three year span, I broke my nose, my collar bone, my femur, and had my gall bladder removed. None of these events were a bloody good time, but they taught me to persevere. The mindset transformation I underwent to overcome these challenges became the foundation of a mantra that would allow me to succeed in so many other things: Conquer the Controllable with Savviness, Moxie, and Mettle (which has become a focus of my blog).

I remember reading an article during Covid about how the sports card industry was exploding. In that article they were discussing a specific card selling for nearly $100,000. I swore I had that card. I absolutely flew the the basement in search of gold, taking the better part of an afternoon going through my thousands of cards. I never found the card in the article, but I took inventory of a noticeable collection. From there, things moved fast. I discovered how to create an eBay account, how to setup and install a thermal label printer, how to send cards to PSA for grading, how to ship cards around the world, and eventually how to acquire more inventory and turn it for a profit.

 

A hobby started almost 30 years ago had transformed into a buy/sell/hold hobby that more than pays for itself. My personal collection contains Mickey Mantle, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Ted Williams, Tiger Woods, Marvel cards, and more. I usually flip newer cards while retaining those of players who are retired and in their respective Hall of Fames. I've also branched into comics, and I'm currently selling hundreds of video games for someone who discovered my ability to sell collectibles online.

Another little known fact about me is my inclination toward sci-fi and fantasy: books, shows, movies. I'm a fan of the original Star Wars + Rogue One, Dune, Battle Star Gallatica, Stranger Things, Silo, LOTR, Matrix, The Martian, and so on. I was reading one of the best sci-fi books I've ever read (Red Rising) when my mind ventured into a very dangerous area - my own world building. I decided right then and there I would put words to those worlds. Since then, I've written several books, the first of which was published in 2025!

More recently, I stumbled into an opportunity called PEACE FORCE, which began as a jail ministry: an in-person training program designed to improve the lives of inmates through physical, mental, and spiritual training. From there, we began offer in-person seminars focused on women's self defense: seeking to instill confidence, safety, and empowerment for women around the world. In conjunction with seminars, PEACE FORCE offers an at-home box course for women's self defense, with additional box courses for kids and adults on their way (currently only available at a in-person seminar).
